French Country HutchThis oak hutch was purchased as a new, unpainted piece of furniture (see inset), and the clients wanted it to look like it had been around for years. The second requirement was that it complement the existing hutch in the room (second picture). The hutch was first color washed in a similar tone of the red in the existing hutch, then the sage green applied, and then gently sanded for a distressed finish. The decorative details were then added, and also distressed. The entire piece was then coated with polyurethane for durability. The hutch was completed in 1 day. |
