Riverscape Murals

These three, large-scale murals were painted in the main section of the children's department of the Yonkers Public Library. The largest, which is behind the reception desk, measures 21 feet wide by 8 1/2 feet high, and the two smaller ones, which are painted on columns that flank the computer and reference section, are 4 1/2 feet wide by 8 1/2 feet high. The river themes of the murals took their cues from the Library's Hudson River location, and the bright colors, cloud-filled sky and cheerful sailboats help bring the outdoors inside. The murals were completed in 6.5 days.
